There’s mystery and intrigue on the streets of Stratford this evening. The Phoenix Players have seen two promotional banners for their upcoming production disappear!
Fiona Robson, Chair of the Phoenix Players, said “we simply have no idea what’s happened to them. We put five up but two, one outside Tesco the other on the Seven Meadows Road, disappeared overnight!”
Have the players fallen foul of officialdom? Or was it young (or even old) rogues for a bit of mischief? Or is it some skullduggery from a rival company?! “I don’t think we’ll ever know” says Fiona.
Ironically the banners are promoting the murder mystery farce ‘Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders‘ running from May 20th to 23rd at the Bear Pit Theatre. The cast inevitably includes a bumbling and incompetent Clouseau-esqe policeman, Detetective Inspector Twigg, who is ably assisted by Agatha in solving a series of murders. When asked about the latest real life mystery DI Twigg commented “Have no fear, I shall apply logic and deduction and will solve the mystery of the missing hammers in no time …. what, they’re banners? OK, those as well!”
Tickets for ‘Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders’ are available from 01789 403416 or online at the the RSC Box Office.
